  Prestige Class Requirements
by: RegretNot, 19-06-2010 02:15 PM (#1)

In the books there are list requirements to take each prestige class. In progression in a TT game they make complete sense but in a chat where we are reflecting an entire galaxy of force users, adaptable rogues, and a large collection of heros there is no doubt that it makes it rigid to inforce such rules even when it might make sense for characters to take the prestige class.

Just say any special requirement for a prestige class can be waived at GM discretion because I am sure it will be more than the just those two the question comes up with.

GM descretion waivers sound like a good idea.

I agree as long as its only special requirements that can be waivered. No waivering required skills, talents, feats, etc. Though that brings up another topic I'll open for discussion in this thread once I've done my research more.

Bounty Hunter Prestige Class

Required
Talents: 2 Awareness Tree Talents

I'd like to dispute the Awareness Talents requirement to some of the other talent trees. In opinion its severely limiting the Bounty Hunter Prestige Class by requiring 2 talents from only 1 talent tree.

Crime Lord - 1 talent from three trees (2 classes)
Elite Trooper - 1 talent from three trees (1 class)
Force Adept - 1 talent from the force talent trees (non-class specific)
Force Disciple - 2 talents from three trees (non-class specific)
Officer - 1 talent from two trees (2 classes)
Infiltrator - 2 talents from 2 trees (1 class)
Master Privateer(unleashed) - 2 talents from three trees (1 class)
Charlatan - 1 talent from three trees (1 class)
Mater Privateer (S&V) - 2 talents from one tree (1 class)

Enforcer - 1 talent from one tree (1 class)
Assassin - 1 specific talent (1 class)

I went through roughly half the books. Core, KotoR, Unleashed, and S&V. Most Prestige classes offer more options when it comes to required talents. I'd like to request a change to this Prestige Class. Open up 1 or 2 more talent trees to choose from. Possibly even from another class such as Soldier.

I would say the bounty hunter talents need to come from awareness, camouflage, survivior talent trees. The soldier trees are for soldiers and not all bounty hunters have to be big armored men wielding heavy weapons. That is my suggestions.

I say leave it as is, I think the intention of the requirement was that the bounty hunter would get the master tracker talent (though with the other books that's obviously not nearly as forced). Also, Bounty Hunter is the only prestige class (besides independent droid which really shouldn't count) that doesn't have some kind of feat requirement, and especially given the talents that reside in Suvivor it seems like they would be getting off to easy with the requirement. I might see it being expanded to Awareness and Camouflage but even then I would be iffy of that.

My argument is that there is more than one talent tree per other PrC's in general. I'd like another tree given because tbh the Awareness sucks. I hate it. None of it is even remotely useful to my character.

Speaking as someone still hesitant about adding more trees, here are the ones I would think would make sense:
Camoflage
Master Scout
Spy
Surveillance

I definetly wouldn't advise adding more than one or two to the list, and of the list above I would say Master Scout and Surveillance make the most sense for a Bounty Hunter, thoughts?

I'm going to say we add Camouflage as its a lot bigger talent tree and would fit the stealthy bounty hunter concept better.
