Characters are created using the Star Wars Saga Edition Core Rules (SE), as well as, other approved material, beginning at Level 1. Only material from the these books (SE) is permitted at this time.
Ability Scores are created using the point-buy system (Core SE p18); however, players receive 28 points, not the standard 25 with which to create their characters, to reflect their heroic (or villainous) potential. Droid characters receive 24, rather than 28 points with which to purchase their Ability Scores, due to not having a Constitution score to pay for.
That said, Destinies and Destiny Points will not be used. A chat game is typically more crowded than a table-top campaign, and every character having a special, epic destiny cheapens in-play accomplishments. Instead we will allow use of up to 2 backgrounds found on pg 16-22 of the Rebellion Era Campaign Guide.
Credits
Characters receive one-half of their maximum starting wealth in Credits with which to purchase equipment. Any unspent Credits carry over and represent the character's starting funds.
Jedi - 600
Noble - 2400
Scoundrel - 1500
Scout - 1500
Soldier - 1500
Droid - get credits based on class. They lose all credits at the end of creation.
Jedi
Jedi characters should, at least the majority, be recently trained pupils of General Obi-Wan Kenobi and so most come from the ranks of the Rebel Alliance, and received their instruction on Yavin. Exceptions likely were raised by one of the few old or disgraced former Jedi who left the order before the Empire began its pogrom.
Character Limits per Faction
Players will only be allowed 3 Characters at this time. One in each Faction. You can not have two Rebels or two Independents/Fringers or two Sith. One of each faction please and thank you.
Force-sensitive Character Limit
This new ruling replaces any previous limit, and is the result of a consensus among the GM staff as to the best way to accommodate new and potential new factions, as well as the current expansion to the current game and factions available.
For the sake of this ruling, Jedi are defined as PCs trained in the Jedi Order tradition and Talent trees, not Jedi-class PCs. The limit is on Force-sensitive PCs regardless of character class.
Players wishing to explore the Force and Force-sensitive characters may have only two Force-sensitive characters in the game. Both are able to be Force-sensitive at level 1 but only two are allowed in the entire game to be [played by one player.
Feats
One change per the Force Training Feat if taken at first level. Please read the Force Powers List that can be found here. You may only take one 2nd category power at 1st level.
Droid Creation Rules:
All droid PC's must be created using the Chassis rules, from Scavengers Guide to Droids, with the following Clarifications/Caveat. Everything in the initial Chassis package, additional Processors, Limbs, and Locomotion Systems, factor into the weight of the droid character and not the characters encumbrance. For flavor consider them "Welded onto the droids chassis". Accessories count against the droids encumbrance, as if it were carried gear. Systems that do not fall into the category of "Limb", "Processor"and "Locomotion".
For Example: we'll use a blaster mounted on a tool arm.
The tool arm itself factors into the droids weight. The blaster however, even when attached to the arm, counts against encumbrance. Same would go for any number of possible mounts.(Medical kits, surgical Kits, Tool Kits, etc, etc, etc)
Appendage weight is considered the base weight of the appendage. The additional upgrades available to limbs and locomotion systems would constitute accessories.
For Example: a Telescoping tool arm with a blaster mount.
The Arm itself counts on the droid characters weight. The mounted tool(in this case a blaster), as well as the telescoping modification, would count as accessories, and thereby count against the droids encumbrance.
Droids Equipment/Systems Layout
Item and cost................................................Total cost....weight ....total weight
Heruistic Prossessor 2000............................= 2000 C......= 5..........= 5 Kg
Specialized subprocessor Endurance 1000..= 3000 C.....= 2...........= 7 Kg
Hidden Core 400............................................= 3400 C.....= - ............= 7 Kg
Translator DC15 500..................................... = 3900 C.....= 2...........= 9 Kg
See the diagram above? It makes approval for a Droid a lot faster. Why? It shows the item purchased and then its price, it shows the total amount spent so far in the next column. Next is the weight of the item purchased followed by the total weight of all items purchased so far.

It should be fairly evident that if we provide the template, we'd like you to use it when submitting your characters.
A number of submissions seem to be ignoring it, or changing its formatting significantly. This makes a lot of work for Game Masters who then need to change it back during approval. While I am sure that some prefer their sheets formatted differently, we ask that you respect our way of presenting the information. It's not done on a whim, it's so that when a GM has to look something up, they can quickly find what they're looking for since the sheets are all the same.
This is the point of uniformity. It's not just a whim on our parts.
