We have very few rules regarding the use of this chat site. Offenses may lead to permanent site-banning by the Admin and possibly a call to the local authorities about your criminal behavior. Please take a look at our guidelines governing the use of the site.

Chatters must avoid any illegal activities on or through the chat service, including but not limited to:

** Illegitimate redistribution of copyrighted material

** Acts of vandalism and other forms of (sexual) harassment defined by the laws in both their own place of residence and the Netherlands, Europe, where Star Wars: A Fading Hope is based.

> The use of the chat for advertising purposes for a business without prior permission. Such permission will be evaluated based on the form and content of the promotion. (This includes but is not limited to spamming other rooms to advertise a room be it on Star Wars: A Fading Hope or elsewhere.)

** Distributing any form of pornography involving a minor, including, but not limited to, text, images, video and audio.

** Soliciting sex, or cyber-sex, with a minor in any portion of this site, whether public or private.

** Discussing acts of statutory rape in any portion of this site, whether public or private.

While Star Wars: A Fading Hope is happy to offer an M rating for some rooms, staff will not accept rooms for which the primary purpose appears to be cyber-sex. Any room that degenerates into that state will be removed. If you like to do that, please keep it to Instant Messengers.

Chatters are expected to behave respectfully towards each other and towards Star Wars: A Fading Hope site staff members, regardless of the game venue or community to which they belong. (This includes but is not limited to: accepting and complying with the room's expectations for behavior; not taking part in any sort of impersonation or attempts to defraud) "Chatter" is defined as anyone who is using Star Wars: A Fading Hope services in any manner. Staff administration standards of behavior will supersede room standards of behavior for Staff administrative actions.

Star Wars: A Fading Hope recognizes the difference between a chatter taking part in these activities, which is violation of these requirements, and a character (played by a chatter) taking part in these activities, which is subject to the community standards in which the roleplay takes place. Star Wars: A Fading Hope expects the clear use of out of character (OOC) indicators on the part of the chatters to define in and out of character actions and statements.

Code of Conduct

As stated above, we distinguish between things being said IC (In Character) and OOC (Out of Character) ; however, be civil, curteous and treat eachother with respect. Also, we realize that not everyone always will be able to get along with another. That's alright, it isn't a perfect world after all. However, and I want to make this absolutely clear, DO NOT... I repeat, DO NOT, take OOC grudges/fights/fits/tantrums/whatnot into the chat, not in PM's, not in Forum posts, not -ANYWHERE- on the site. You have a problem with someone, you leave your baggage at the entrance door when using Star Wars: A Fading Hope's services. Anyone is encouraged to send complaints to admin@starwars.rpg-chat.com in case of such slandering going on and it will be dealt with in a just and fair manner. (usually involving getting in touch with both parties and reaching common grounds. If persistant slandering continues, the one or both sides may be banned from the site.)

Players are encouraged to welcome new additions to the game, cliques of groups are to be avoided, yes everyone will be playing with their regular gaming buds, but do try to remain openminded on the influx of new gamers. Be patient and helpful when you can. Remember, we all were new to this hobby of ours at some point. Thank you.

Characters created for the games on Star Wars: A Fading Hope can not be claimed as ones own 'intellectual' property. We refer to the default rules found within any core book published by Wizards of the Coast in the Star Wars Saga Edition Series. A GameMaster can at any point assume control over the character which includes the event when then player decides to leave. By publishing stories on Star Wars: A Fading Hope you acknowledge the intellectual property is not privately owned but permanent contribution to Star Wars A Fading Hope.

Handing of disputes

In case of a dispute, such is handled between those involved and not shared with whoever wants to hear it (more often then not, your fellow players do in fact not want to hear about it). Disputes are handled off site (though if needed, PM's - Private Messages are fine). The Site Administrators (Dennis and Burne) have the final say in any dispute, one step below them, the Venue GM's have the final say in anything game related. (Understand that for a story, an GM may make a different ruling then stated in the books. It is okay to inquire if such is the case - GM's are human beings to, thus make errors, it is however not okay to throw a temper tantrum over a clear GM call made deliberately.)
